Srinagar
30kms from Pauri situated on the bank of Alaknanda river, Srinagar was once the capital of the Garhwal Kings before the arrival of British. Even today, it is one of the biggest township of the district and is the seat of the Garhwal University. It is located at the junction of roads from Kotdwar, Rishikesh, Tehri Garhwal and Badrinath.

Dhari Devi Temple :
the temple dedicated to Goddess Kali is a much worshipped Goddess of the region. People are of the opinion that the stone carved deity changes face of a girl, woman and of old lady as the day progresses.
Devalgarh :
situtated at distance of 19kms from the main town of Srinagar vis Chamdhar, Devalgarh was established by the king of Kangra named Deval. The Laxmi Narayan Temple, Gauri Devi Temple & Rajrajeshwari Temple are the main attractions here.
Keshorai Math :
the temple is of great significance for its architectural beauty. The temple has been made of huge stones and the inscriptions on the stone of the main door reveals that around 1682 A.D., a person by the name of 'Keshorai' got this temple constructed.
Kamleshwar Temple :
Srinagar abounds in ancient temples and Kamleshwar is the most prominent among them. It I said that Lord Rama had worshipped Lord Shiva here with thousand lotus Flowers. One flower felt short and Rama compensated this by offering one of his eyes. That is the reason why he is also known as 'Kamal Nayan', meaning Lotus eyed.
Shankar Math :
this temple is at a distance of 3kms from the main town of Srinagar and is believed to have been constructed by Adi Guru Shankaracharya. The temple has a unique architectural beauty. The central room of the temple has the idols of God Vishnu and Goddess Laxmi.
Binsar Mahadev :
Binsar Mahadev temple is situated at an altitude of 2,480 meters ASL. It is about 22 km from Thalisain and 114kms from Pauri. It is Believed that this temple was built in a single day.Ladies comes here on Vaikunth chaturdashi and light a lamp on their palm to fulfill the desire of child. Though the temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, the sanctum also houses idols of Lord Ganesh and Goddesses Parvati and Durga.
Jwala Devi Temple :
Jwala Devi is one of the major 'Shakti Peethas' of India. Jwala Devi Temple is located at a distance of 34 kms in south of Kangra in Himachal Pradesh. Positioned besides a cliff, Jwalamukhi Mandir is built on a wooden platform in the Indo-Sikh style of architecture. The structural design of the temple is simple, but the religious aura makes it undoubtedly divine. The dome and spire of this temple are covered with Gold. Jwalamukhi refers to the deity with flaming mouth. As per the legends, the mouth of Sati fell here at the time of self-sacrifice. Ever since, the Goddess occupied the place and she manifested in nine flames. However, the construction of this temple was completed in the 19th century, when Maharaja Ranjit Singh and his son, Kharak Singh, gave the Gold and Silver for the dome and door respectively. Every year during 'Navaratras', a special religious festival is held at Jwaladevi.
Kanvashram :
Kanvashram, a sacred ashram located near Lansdowne hill station, is a gateway to Puri, the most sought temple town in India. This ashram is bordered by thick forests and hillocks, making it a beautiful place for feasting the eyes of tourists. A spectacular attraction nearby is the famous Malini River flowing near to this Ashram. 14 kms from Kotdwar, Kanva Rishi Ashram s an important place both historically and archaeologically. It is believed that Indra, the king of Gods, was scared by Sage Vishwamitra's meditation, and seant a beautiful heavenly damsel named Menaka, who finally succeeded in diverting Vishwamitra's attention. She gave birth to a girl who later became Shakuntala and married the prince of Hastinapur. She gave birth to Bharat, the prince after whom our country is called Bharatvarsh.
Khirsu :
The snow-covered mountains of Khirsu offer a panoramic view of the Central Himalayas and attracts a large number of toursits. From here one can get a clear view of many named and unnamed peaks. Located 19 km away from Pauri at an altitude of 1,700 m, Khirsu is a peaceful spot, free from pollution. The tranquility of the adjoining thick oak and deodar forests and apple orchards, is broken only by the chirping of birds. The ancient temple of Ghandiyal Devta, in the vicinity, is well worth a visit.
Tarakund :
Situated at a height of 2,200 m, Tara Kund is a picturesque spot amidst lofty mountains in the Chariserh development area. A small lake and an ancient temple adorn the place. The Teej Festival is celebrated with great gaiety when the local people come here to worship and pay homage to God.
