Popularly called Kodai, is a beautiful hill station located in the Palani Hills at an altitude of more than 2100 meters. Wooded hills, pleasant walks, waterfalls, lake and rich flora and fauna make Kodai one of the best. It has a unique plant - the Kurunji, which blossoms once in 12 years (last blossoms in 2004).

There are many places worth visiting in and around Kodaikkanal. The lake with boating facilities, the Bryant Park, the Solar physical Observatory, Coaker's walk, the Kurunji Temple, the telescope houses, the Bear Shola Falls, the Silver Cascade, the Dolphins nose, the Perumal Peak, Kukkal Caves and the Kumbakkarai waterfalls.

Summer festival celebrated in may every year. Boat Race and Flower Show are held, which are the major tourist attractions.
