Kozhikode Beach: This beach is favourite haunt for sunset viewers. Adding to its natural beauty is the old world charm retained by the ancient lighthouse and the two crumbling piers, each more than a hundred year old, than run into the sea.
S M Street: Sweet Meat Street or Mithai Theruvu is the busiest street in Kozhikode and derives its name from the times when the street was lined with sweet meat stalls. Today the bustles with shops that sell anything and everything including the famed sweets and banana chips.
Kapkadavu Beach: It is one of the most attractive beaches in the city and has taken an important place in the history of the world. It is in this beach that the Portuguese Navigator Vasco Da Gama landed on 27th May 1498, with 170 men in three vessels on his discovery of the sea route from Europe to India. This beach is also known as Kappad Beach and is only 16 km from the railway station.
The Thali Temple: This temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is an ancient temple dating back to the Zamorin rule. This temple was destroyed by Tipu Sultan and Hyder Ali. However the temple was renovated in the 18th Century and includes shrines of Ganapati, Narasimha and Saasta.
Pazhassiraja Museum and Art Gallery (5km from Kozhikode): It is a beautiful museum under the State Archaeological Department and consists of ancient coins, models of temples, mural paintings, antique bronzes, dolmenoid cists and other items of archeological importance. There is a beautiful art gallery adjacent to the museum which displays paintings of renowned artists from Kerala. It is closed on Monday and other public holidays).
Kadalundi Bird Sanctuary: This sanctuary is the home to about 100 species of resident and 60 species of migratory birds. The sanctuary is surrounded by hillocks and spreads over an area of 3 km at an altitude of 200m above sea level. The ideal season to visit this sanctuary is between December and April.
Beypore: Situated 11 Km from the city, off Kallayi road. City buses ply form the city bus station and Palayam terminals. The hall mark of Beypore is its traditional ship building yard where the world famous "URU" is build, which has been a mode of transportation on the high seas for ages.
Lokanarkavu Temple: The Lokanarkavu Temple is 5km from vbatakara, 20km south of Mahe. This serene temple complex has three temples; one to Durga-the main diety, one to Siva and the other to Vishnu. All the temples are open to Hindus only. The Siva Temple contains vivid paintings, which are replicated wooden carvings at the entrance.

(50km From Kozhikode): Famous for its trekking tracks, it is located near Vythiri in Wayanad. Waterfalls and streams abound in this hilly region.
SANDBANKS (50km from Kozhikode): this beach where the Kottakal river merges into the sea is stunningly beautiful and is a favourite spot for locals and tourists. The nearly situated Birla Bungalow offers a delightful view of the Sandbanks beach.
Mishkal Masjid, Kuttichira: one of the oldest mosque in this city, this four storeyed structure supported by wooden pillars proudly proclaims the architectural splendor of yesterdays.
Payyoli Beach (40km from Kozhikode): the shallow waters of this beautiful beach is ideal for swimming. During November-December hordes of the endangered olive Ridley turtles come in to lay eggs.
